Spring is our favourite time to get outside. Longer days, milder weather, and everything growing and changing—there’s so much to notice. Our spring activities with the kids are simple: walks, scavenger hunts, a bit of planting, and plenty of fresh air.
We look for signs of spring: buds, flowers, birds, insects. We collect fallen petals or leaves for collage or pressing. We plant seeds or seedlings in pots or a small patch and water them together. A scavenger hunt—something yellow, something green, something that fits in your hand—works in the garden or park. Outdoor games (ball, tag, obstacle course) feel easier when it’s not too hot or cold. We bring a blanket and a snack and do a mini picnic. Spring is about renewal and possibility; even a short time outside can lift the mood.
We follow their curiosity. If they want to look at worms or pick daisies, we go with it. There’s no wrong way to enjoy spring. You’ve got this.
