The beach is a natural playground—and one of our favourite free days out. Sand, water, and a few toys or buckets are enough for hours of beach activities. We keep it simple and safe, and the kids never want to leave.
Digging and building with sand—castles, moats, tunnels—never gets old. We add water from the sea or a bucket to make it stick. We collect shells, stones, and driftwood; sort them, count them, or use them to decorate. Paddling and splashing (always with an adult close by) are simple joys. A ball or frisbee works on the sand or in the shallow water. We bring shade, sun cream, and water, and set clear boundaries: how far they can go, where we’ll stay. When they’re tired, a blanket and a snack in the shade reset the day.
The beach offers space, freedom, and sensory play without any planning. Keep an eye on the sea and the sun—then enjoy. You’ve got this.
